Meet the Founder
Aaron: Club Organizer & Founder
Welcome! I started the Lima Area Chess Club to give local chess enthusiasts a dedicated space to connect, play over-the-board games, and analyze positions together. Whether you grew up playing casual games at home, got hooked playing online, or are just getting into the game, I wanted to create a welcoming local spot for everyone in the area.
When I'm not setting up boards for club meetings or playing online, I'm spending time with family, watching movies, or reading (Lord of the Rings currently).
I became inspired to start this club when searching for a spot to play OTB chess and finding the nearest clubs were 30 or 40 minutes away. I hope to find and connect with other players looking for a close-to-home spot to play and improve.
Our Members
The Lima Area Chess Club is open to players from all walks of life across Allen County. Our members range from total beginners learning the basic rules to seasoned over-the-board players looking for solid practice partners.
We don't care about your rating or how long you've been playing, if you have an interest in chess, you belong here.
